Are you one of the people logging onto the IRS website to check on the status of your refund?  Most of the time when clients asked our office to check, the refund dates where very accurate.

It seems that we were the exception and not the rule.  So this tax season the IRS will not be giving precise dates for refunds.  Based upon the taxpayer’s complaints that the refund date shown on the IRS’ “Where’s My Refund” page were inaccurate.

Also last year the problem was exasperated when a glitch caused refund delays for early filers. The Service has now has decided to generalize the refund date. Filers who are investigating the status of their refunds will be told that refunds will generally be paid within 21 days of the date the return was filed.

Ah computerized progress.
