The AICPA trumpets its acceptance of CPA mobility which has been signed by 39 states as a great triumph. I believe it to be a false promise boarding on farce. The only things that CPA’s seem to be getting a free ride on are the things that they cannot license. Bookkeeping, accounting and tax services. The main distinction of a CPA from the rabble that never received a designation in Attestation work; and apparently if you wish to attestation work in a state other that your licensed state requires licensure or temporary permits to do any attestation work.
SO where is the great triumph for the AICPA if what makes CPA’s unique requires the extra steps? Looks like just more political posturing with no substance and only flash…
