It seems that entrepreneur bachelor degrees are in the news.  A number of Ivy League institutions are in the process of revamping their tired entrepreneur bachelor degrees.

More and more Millennials believe that the way to make their fortune and pursue dreams of lucrative innovation is through startup glory.

My seventeen year old is already of the mind set that he wants to start his own business.  I am keeping this in mind as we discuss colleges and plans for his education.  But he may not be the typical teen.  He has been in DECA for his entire high school life going to state and nationals and is now part of their leadership.

Hearing what they are required to do and the debts of their requirements I have to say I have been impressed with this extracurricular activity.

I have also been informed that there are many more kids than I would have guessed involved at the school, district and state levels that I would have guessed.

Also the prevalent amount of fund raising websites such as Kickstarter and their competitors will make the future very exciting.  This country was built on small businesses, throughout our history it have been the smaller businesses that drove the economy in the pre-industrial days.  After the Industrial revolutions we have shifted to larger companies, but with the computerization of and the efficiencies driving down employment needs the small companies are becoming the greater drivers of the economy again.

So it seems that our young entrepreneurs are probably calling it correctly and will be the driving force of jobs and our economy for the next millennium.
