The IRS have now been given authorization to revoke or to not allow the State department to renew your passport, if the Service determines that you are whom they consider to be “seriously delinquent” in paying your taxes.
Apparently the garnishment of wages and seizing of assets were considered too mild a deterrent.
They want to ensure that you are unable to flee the country if you owe them money.
Just imagine the fun some of us will have with this new law hanging over our head.
