Well after months and months of debating and hemming and hawing, I have finally taken the plunge. I have ordered a tablet.
I was planning to wait for the iPad 3, in spite of the extended delays from Apple, but a client who is an early adapter of the iPad suggested that this was not a good idea. This is after several people I know swear by them as the greatest invention know to man (I still go with fire and shelter). But the recommendations of tech guys always carry more weight in my technology choices then the average user.
The tablet market has gotten so bad that I believe the Sony tablets were being given away at $99 by Best Buy a few months ago just to clear out inventory. The only heat that is happening regarding a tablet other than the iPad is the Kindle Fire.
Scott, from 20Twenty Consulting was the one making the recommendation of the Kindle Fire over waiting on the iPad 3 or the immediate iPad 2. After finding out that I would be using the tablet mainly for my Social Media Networking Group; Socially Promoted, he felt the Fire has the flexibility and capability for what I need it for; especially for $300 to $400 less.
I guess I will also get the benefit of the Kindle. The founder of Premiere Lifestyle Services, Jim was pushing for a Kindle. He even loaned me a older version of his, suggesting if for nothing else but when I travel.
So, in a week or so; probably later since I ordered today and Thanksgiving is Thursday. I will have my Kindle Fire. This should be easier to use during the Socially Promoted meetings, the laptops take up a lot of space on those round tables.
