Does your business have a value statement? Should your business have a one?  The broad definition is: A declaration that informs the customers and staff of a business about the firm’s top priorities and what its core beliefs are. Companies often use a value statement to help them identify with and connect to targeted consumers, as well as to remind employees about its priorities and goals.

I was at a NFP a few months ago and I was the victim of an attempted strong-armed attempt to pay them a fee for a membership.  But the NFP had no value statement, or what were they trying to sell me for my money?  Other than they rented space to start-up businesses, which I have no need of, I actually like my space.

The NFP had and currently defines themselves by what they are not…  I am still not sure what they are selling beyond space for start-ups.

I am a firm believer that you should know what you want to do and with whom you want to work with.  We are a CPA firm that works with small and medium businesses assisting them in achieving their goals.
