As the year winds down, I suggest that you take some time to work on your business, rather than in your business.  Never mind that you should have already started your planning for 2021, since you are working to complete your tax and business goals for 2020.

First check with the Secretary of State website to ensure that your annual report has been filed and that you are in good standing.  Just sending in a check may not be good enough.  If you owe back taxes and are not on a payment plan, they do not process your report.  I know of a NFP that is still operating, but has been involuntarily dissolved by the SOS offices, I don’t know if the Executive Director is aware or not or cares.

Second you should have already had your annual meeting, this should be done and documented to ensure who are the executives for your annual report.  Besides the election you may have approved a budget, reviewed your prior approved measurables and where you stand with your goals.  You should be reviewing the status of the 1-3-5 year planning process.

That leaves the goals for 2021.  What are the equipment, IT or fixture needs or plan coming up for your business? Where do you stand with your sales and marketing planning and goals? You need to review the 1-3-5 year plan to add the next year for the drop off of the current year.  Are there expansion plans?  Do you need more employees?
