We work with a number of clients who ask for our advice and then act upon that advise, usually for the better and their business grow and prosper.

While there are a few outliers that have me in regularly to assist with certain tasks and then ignore my advice.  One comes to mind, when they lost a large company who was bringing their work in house to save money.

The client claimed that they were a break-even client that would not affect the bottom line.  I argued that they did not have to data to prove that that claim.  Also, even if it was break-even, it paid all the workers for their time.  The next year there had to be temporary layoffs of workers because of the loss of work.

The past six years the client has had varying losses, the pandemic devastated them in 2020 and 2021 was better, but it still generated a loss.  The PPP and EIDL funds keep them in business, along with a number of other clients.

Now their bank is showing signs that they want to no longer be in business with them.  Another bank plain said a plain “no” to any loans or assistance.

Living within a business’s means is possible, maybe not fun but possible. I see the potential of the company, if I could only get them to listen more and act…
