If you are a business owner how good of a delegator are you?  What responsibilities, true responsibilities have to delegated to others?  Or do you have to have your hands on every aspect of the business, since only you can do it exactly right.  Others may come close, but only you can really get the job done.

If this describes you, then your business may never make it to the next level.  You may have risen to the level of your own mediocrity.  A single individual cannot make a company great.  I have clients who love Apple and near worship Steve Jobs.  Jobs did actually very little himself; others did the design work (i.e. Jony Ive); programming (Steve Wozniak in the beginning); management (John Sculley).  But everyone only thinks of Jobs.  He took the credit and the patents.  But he delegated to others what he was incapable of doing himself. Look at NeXT computers for proof.

I have talked to businesses owners who rely upon their managers to run their businesses.  Managers, who are then responsible for the day to day operations and the profitability of the business.  If they fail they are replaced.

But delegation brings in other opinions and insight.  There is even a potentially better way to make the wheel, which you might never have thought of.
