We have all heard the promoters and their outrageous claims about getting your money that is owed to you and your business under the ERC rules.
The ERTC rules are complex, and Congress changed them on three different occasions, just to make them more complicated.
With the promoters hawking misleading claims for credit, they are attracting businesses to cough up the high upfront fees. They may not have your best interests at heart and may produce incomplete or fraudulent claims; or tell you the truth once their fees are paid that you don’t qualify.
The IRS takes improper ERTC claims very seriously. The service is ramping up civil audit of dubious ERTC claims. It has also made the IRS list of “Dirty Dozen” abusive tax schemes.
So, proceed with caution regarding whom you work with on ERTC claims.
