I am far from surprised.  Illinois concealed carry licenses are not currently trending downwards.

While there was a recent ruling deeming the state’s ban on concealed carry on public transit unconstitutional, this decision is limited to the specific plaintiffs in the case and the law remains in effect for others, according to CBS Chicago.

The number of applications for new and renewed licenses, as well as FOID cards, remains high, with a significant backlog, according to Capitol News Illinois.

Uncertainty abounds; we have tensions and warfare in three areas of the world currently.  The economy has been yoyoing up and down.  Violence may be down in Chicago, but it is far from gone.  My wife saw someone she knows who was assaulted on camera recently as the couple tried to enter their home, by three armed criminals.

The overall trend for concealed carry licenses in Illinois is not one of decline. While specific challenges to the law may arise, the demand for licenses remains strong.
