As I was reading a biography om Hershey and Mars, I learned that three chocolate companies that were started in the late 19th century are still in existence.  I was flabbergasted.

Since the book was written in the 1990’s, I thought I needed to verify that they do truly still exist.

They all still do…In the late 1800’s: Walter Baker in New England, Etienne Guittard and Domingo Ghardelli in California are all still in business.  All three companies have active website for major companies.  Chocolate seems to be one of the places for a long history of business.
