This just happened to me. Granted it may not have been the first, but it was the first I noticed. I got it courtesy of the AICPA (American Institute of CPA’s) of which I am a member. So, they sold my information to a partner to get paid three times, my annual fee, for the mailing list and a commission if I buy (this is a guess, but I am fairly certain).
I know I am getting older; my little kids are adults. When I get a haircut there is no pigment to the hair falling into my lap.
The solicitation was a slap, I had just paid for my disability insurance bill…
