Are you saving enough money? Are you saving any money whatsoever?
Most people don’t, they are expecting better times in the future. Rather than more of the same…
There is the old saying to pay yourself first. This is above and beyond your paycheck if you run your own business. You really should be paying yourself and not working for free, if you run your own business.
You should systematically put money into a savings account, before you start paying your monthly bills. It may be possible to have it directly deposited into your saving account by your employer before it ever hits your checking account.
By paying yourself first you are building a nest egg that can be used for investing, or for a new car, or even for a major renovation or repair.
I know the first thought is that you are living check to check. That may be, but there is usually some flexibility in discretionary spending. So it takes a bit longer to buy the next gadget or other unnecessary expense, you will appreciate the nest egg when it is large.
So, pay savings first, consider monthly savings as a bill and pay it monthly (regularly).
