I theoretically own a few properties. I say theoretical for good reason. In reality, I may have had to paid or am paying for them, but I don’t feel that I really own them.
Think I am incorrect?
The government really owns it and let’s us think we own it. Think I am wrong? If so, don’t pay the property taxes and see how long the government lets you use their property.
I am limited to what I can do with my property, if I want to make and modification, I have a bureaucratic process that has to be gone through and get their approval, before I can do anything.
There is then the banks, they could and do move faster than the government to get you out if you don’t pay the mortgage. Until you paid them every last penny they have first rights to your property.
We have freedom and ownership up to a point, then it stops, and the government is the decider, so who has true ownership?
