If you use QuickBooks Payroll to do your payroll that’s fine. Made sure you are downloading all of the quarterly reports and keeping them safe.
We had one client who used the QB service, did not save the files, then went out of business.
Two years later the IRS was after a couple quarterly reports, that apparently were never submitted, or lost in the either…
QB flushed the client data and was not able or willing to assist in the IRS request.
So, I had to request data from the IRS and recreate to the best of my ability the forms that they were requesting.
Just ensure you have all payroll reports and access, you never know when you will need them. Beyond the next Worker Comp audit.
