When I started my business, the goal was to regain control over my future.  It seemed that every time I had a child, a position was eliminated out from under me. So, I ventured forth with an idea more than a plan.  Luckily, I had help all along the way.

As I gathered clients, I had one that paid the bulk of my income, and it went from there.  I was to the point where I would earn a decent living but would always need to replace any client who left quickly, to maintain that living.  Not an easy task when one is a very small business.

So, I branched out and bought my office and grew larger.  I was able to grow, but only to a certain point.

The vast majority of all business start small and stay small.  I have peers who view it as buying a job, not a career.  Much like a Subway franchise.

There are risks to starting any business, I am glad I did so. I continue to enjoy the journey..
