We now have a couple of generations brought up on video games, so was it ever a far stretch that someone would create a stock trading app that gamified investing.

Michael Burry from the “Big Short” (book and movie); blasted Robinhood’s gamification of investing, calling its app a “dangerous casino.”

But if retail is moving toward more trading and away from fundamentals, WS owns that game,” Burry cautioned.

Gamifying the app is one thing.  But investing still needs to be based on sound fundamental, or we get something akin to the tech bubble of 2000 again.  In the market there will always be winners and losers.  But basing decisions on knowledge and facts will minimize the downside.
