I am more than aware that as a nation we have messed up and backward priorities.

Congress can’t agree with on the color of an orange.

Our economy is in the toilet and the only election issue seems to be abortion rights.

Most important of all is the fact that the day after Thanksgiving I cant buy Christmas tree lights.

For over a score of years now I have assembled our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.  We test the lights strings before we start and usually there are some, that have died.  We would then go to the local Kmart and buy the replacements.  Once Kmart was closed, we went to Walmart ot Target.

But for the last four years both places have nothing, with the exception of the huge gapping display hole there was no evidence that they even carried Christmas lights…

So, learning from my past mistakes I ordered full sets of lights for all the trees, yes there are three in our house, one apparently was not enough. So I ordered them in early October. I was thinking that they would come from a warehouse.  Was I wrong, apparently they start selling Christmas items earlier than I expected. With the idea that they should be all sold by early November for a late December holiday.

Alas, I got my Christmas lights before I bought the trick or treat candy for Halloween. Our priorities are all messed up.
