Have you ever run into a friend or colleague or employee who was under the belief that they were so integral to the business that no one could ever replace them?  I have known many over the years.  All of them are wrong.

Everyone is replaceable, no one is that special.  Football teams replace quarterbacks and still make it to the playoffs and Super Bowl.  With the exception of the Bears…we chew them up and spit them out, most don’t even get a chance to play for a decent team, but I digress…Bears ownership needs full replacement.

CEO’s come and go from Fortune 100 companies, some stay longer than others, but they all get replaced. The lower the level the seemingly easier it gets to replace the person.

Owners of businesses maybe are possibly the only ones who are irreplaceable, it really depends on the expert knowledge to run that company. But, they can piss off enough clients to go out of business.  Business do go under all the time.

I really can’t think of any one who can’t of has not been replaced. I know if I got hit by a bus, my office would just need to replace me with someone to push my paperwork instead of myself.
