I guess I have not been taking my Zoom call as seriously as I should.  Granted I have not had that many meetings with clients, but I do have a monthly BOD call with a NFP client.  But I have not been as worried about my background as others apparently have.

I stumbled upon an article were people are ordering specific types of books for a backdrop to impress their Zoom companions.  There are companies that sell books by the foot.  So, you can impress your audience with your assumed reading preferences. This company has typically done offices or hotels, but there the focus was on color matching, not content.

As a regular reader, I am always in the middle of a dozen or so. I even have a few bookcases filled with books in my office, lots more at home, but they are not really visible from my camera.  But they are mostly business, marketing and advertising books with history thrown in, along with a few scattered mysteries, thrillers and sci-fi.  Other than my tech person scratching his head on my eclectic reading choices, no one else ever brought it up.

Maybe I should move my camera and arrange my books better.   But, why would my old Master Tax Guides, tax update workbooks, along with my Mellon biography impress others?
