Des Plaines must have the worst building requirement ever.  I don’t see these stupid moves anywhere else.

I know of two new constructions that apparently start on the boundary line of the property.  There were existing building standing and now these new building have a few inches (seemingly 6 inches) separating the buildings.

There is no ability to do maintenance between buildings like tuck-pointing, window replacement, etc.

It just looks odd; I know other suburbs require a 3 ft boundary from the property line making the distance 6 feet between buildings.  If you need to use every square inch of property for the building, look for a larger plot…
